Eighteen issues of Fantasy Review (titled Science Fantasy Review for issues 16-18) were published by Walter Gillings between 1947 and 1950. Michael Ashley describes it as a “highly professional-looking critical magazine...packed with news, reviews and information about the field.”

In 1950 Gillings became editor of the professional magazine Science-Fantasy, a Nova publication and companion to New Worlds. Science Fantasy Review was then incorporated into Science-Fantasy and ceased independent publication.

Philip Turner has scanned the entire FR/SFR archive, and all issues are presented here in both PDF and HTML format. The PDF versions are exact scans of the originals; the HTML files combine searchable text with a facsimile of the appearance of the printed editions.

This on-line version of the magazine was assembled by Farrago & Farrago using copies from the collection of the late Harry Turner, who created the cover artwork for the early issues of Fantasy Review. Scans of issues 2 and 8 were kindly provided by Andy Sawyer, Librarian of the Science Fiction Foundation.
