Russia & Croatia

Interpresscon'97, de facto national Russian SF convention, will take place May 4-8 1997, in Razliv, a small place about 35 km from St.Petersburg. This convention gathers together many Russian SF writers, publishers, translators and others involved in SF. The main events are the year's Russian SF awards: the Bronze Snail, which is awarded personally by Boris Strugatsky, and the Interpresscon Award, which is voted on by the convention attendees. The membership rate, including accomodation and all meals for five days, will be 150 USD for twinaccommodation, or 200 USD for single. The contact address is: PO Box 358, 196158 St.Petersburg, Russia. There is no official e-mail address by now, but I think mine may be used as a provisional one – kir[at] (Kirill Pleshkov)

Croatia now has the main con SFeracon, and smaller cons. One, Kutikon will take place during January. The con will start at two in the afternoon on the 17th, and wil then run non-stop throughout the 18th! Kutikon's title for this year will be Renesansa Nova (New Renaissance), and it is likely to have about the same number of members as last year – c. 180. Events will include rond tables on publishing in Croatia, and on Croatian fandom, computer games, a book room, RPGs and card games, films, videos, and an art show. The GoH wil be Marina Jadrejcic, a well known local writer. (Kresimir Lenic)

SF Web Zines

Maldoror is a French literary/SF zine: – don't worry, you probably won't get to see this, the title of the zine alone was probably enough to trip ten censorship kill programmes long ago, along with de Sade, Baudelaire,...

In Italy a new Web domain devoted to SF has been created by some SF aficionados in Milan: They also have a Web-zine, mainly in Italian, called Delos, present as part of this domain. (SFFranco & Roberto Quaglia).
